About Independence Day cycling (100 kms) and open water swimming
Hello Intrepidians,
Join us for this intermediate cycle ride to Kolar Café Coffee Day. We will be meeting at Tin Factory after which we continue on K R Puram Bridge to join NH75. The itinerary is as follows:
5.30 – Meet at KR Puram bridge few meters ahead of the bus stop.
6.00 – Begin the ride. Kolar CCD is 42 kms from Tin Factory.
7.00 – Reward yourself with sumptuous breakfast at Nandi Grand hotel after completing half the onward distance.
7.45 – Start for Kolar CCD
10.00 – Reach Kolar CCD and chill out while enjoying views of the highway and hillocks.
10.30 – Open water swimming
1.30 – Lunch on the way.
5.30 – Reach Tin Factory and disperse
This is a self-supported and relaxed ride. We will go as a group and return as one at least till the lunch point, after which you are free to disperse or continue with us till Tin Factory.
Things to be carried:
- Spare tubes+puncture kit, pump in case of puncture on the way
- Water bottles to hydrate well during the ride
Pre - Ride check list:
- Check your bike the previous night for brakes, tire pressure and quick release to ensure wheels are not wobbling.
- Do not stretch as cycling itself will warm you up.
During ride
- Ensure you are hydrating well and not just riding.
Note: All timings are tentative. This ride is beginner friendly.
Please wear a helmet and ensure that you at least have a blinker on your cycle.
