Schedule and itinerary:
Day 1 Friday 2nd Nov:

  • Meet at the arrival terminal of Guwahati Airport before 12 noon.
  • Drive from Guwahati the bustling capital city of Assam to a cooler and greener Meghalaya.
  • On the way, you will get a glimpse of the beautiful Umiam Lake, make a quick stopover to take pictures and a quick snack.
  • We won’t be entering Shillong but will be taking a detour and reach the Venue of NH7 Weekender Music Festival
  • Quickly check into our campsite, and party till we drop at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender Madness!!


Day 2 Saturday 3rd Nov:

  • Music, Music and More Music..
  • Start a Lazy day, have our breakfast and loiter around the festival venue enjoying the music filled vibe
  • Savor the umpteen local and international food choices, while loitering amidst the makeshift flea markets.
  • Enter the festival venue right in time soak in the flurry of Music and Masti!!
  • Post the festival, reach the campsite for more music in a cozy setting in front of the campfire!

Day 3 Sunday 4th Nov:

  • We know the best medicine for the hangover is sleeping it off, so let’s start a lazy day(10 am) with a quick breakfast at the campsite and leave for Krangsuri waterfalls!
  • Kill the party fatigue in the last two days with a fresh swim and shower at the waterfalls.
  • The picturesque setting at the waterfalls gives ample opportunities for clicking as many pictures as we like.
  • After having quick lunch en route, we will head onwards to reach Shnongpedang by evening
  • Setup our camp(Pitch our own tents) by the river and enjoy the evening with campfire, music, local food and loads of fun listening to the sound of the flowing river.


Day 4 Monday 5th Nov:

  • Start a lazy day with a swim in the fresh cold waters of Umngot river, have breakfast at our campsite.
  • Shnongpdeng is blessed with a topography that beckons every nature lovers to enjoy camping, angling, rock climbing, cliff jumping, zip lining, snorkeling, scuba diving and trekking (activities at guests expense)
  • Cool off the activity loaded day with food frolic and barbeque at the campsite with loads of music and masti.


Day 5 Tuesday 6th Nov:

  • Start an early day (6 am) with quick breakfast at the campsite and leave for Mawnylong, Asia’s first cleanest village but what is more enticing to see there is the Matriarchal society working in perfect harmony
  • Visit the living root bridge at Riwai and hike up to Nowhet village to get a glimpse of Bangladesh. Lunch at Riwai.
  • Leave for Shora enjoying the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland of the east.
  • Catch up with some breathtaking views and sunset over the Sohra Hills.
  • Call it an early night with sumptuous local food.


Day 6 Wednesday 7th Nov:

  • Start an early day(5 am) and begin our journey to the Tyrna village (in Cherrapunjee) which acts as the base point for the double-decker trek.
  • Have breakfast at Tyrna and start climbing down 3000 steps, and reach the jaw-droppingly beautiful the double-decker living root bridges.
  • Take a pit stop at Nongriat village, recuperate our energy and head out into the wilderness reach rainbow waterfalls.
  • Enjoy the trek while keeping track of time as we have to trek all the way back to Shora by evening.


Day 7 Thursday 8th Nov:

  • Start a lazy day, have a sumptuous breakfast and leave for Shillong
  • After soaking 4 days in blissful nature, time to get back to civilization, let’s not have any agenda for today and make one as we go.
  • Spend the day in and around Shillong doing touristy things and leave for our campsite in Umsing by night.


Day 8 Friday 9th Nov:

  • Start an early day and head to the foggy grasslands of Kaziranga National Park.
  • Reach by noon, have a quick lunch and head out to Jungle Safari to try our luck with Rhinos, Elephants, Swamp Deer and Tigers(if our luck shines like a tiara on our head 😀 )
  • Come back to the homestay, relax and review our pics while enjoying Assamese hospitality!


Day 9 Saturday 10th Nov:

  • Start an Early Day(4AM) and head out to experience the elephant Safari(only those interested, at guests expense)
  • Come back and relax or take a stroll in the flea market of Kohra.
  • Visit the Orchid and Cultural Park in the afternoon post lunch and bewilder at the cultural extravagance of Assam.
  • Gather around by dinner time to rekindle our tranquil tales of Meghalaya and Kaziranga.
  • Overnight stay at Kaziranga.


Day 10 Sunday 11th Nov:

  • Wake up, enjoy breakfast and then pack your bags for the return journey to Guwahati.
  • The long drive through fertile Brahmaputra river belt will have numerous viewpoints and local souvenir stores, you could stop and admire the spots as long as you have time to make it for your flight back home.
  • Arrive at Guwahati by afternoon and bid goodbye to the North East.

  • Basic vegetarian local breakfast, and Dinner.
  • Accommodation in dormitories/shared tents/camps.
  • Entry tickets for scheduled activities (Not for NH7 Weekender)
  • Trekking fees for couple of scheduled treks
  • Campfire multiple times

Exclusions:

  • Tickets to NH7 Weekender (TO BE PURCHASED DIRECTLY)
  • Lunch on all days
  • Any shopping or personal purchases
  • Any snacks/aerated drinks/water bottles/beverages etc.
  • Fees or tickets for any unscheduled activities
  • Expenses towards the repeat of any activities
  • Any expense that is out of the scope of the itinerary
  • Any fines or duties levied by local authorities for any misconduct
  • Any fees or charges levied towards the use of your personal photography equipment.
  • Any exigency purchases made during the stay.
  • Charges towards any medical emergencies during the tour


Important notes:

  • Tents will be provided on 3 and 4 Sharing basis
  • Washrooms would be common at all camping sites where we pitch tents
  • Twin Sharing Tents can be provided at an Extra Price of Rs. 500/- per person per day on prior notice subject to availability
  • Dorms will be provided with 5 or 6 people sharing basis.
  • Twin Sharing rooms can be provided at an Extra Price of Rs. 1,000/- per person per day on prior notice subject to availability.
  • This is gonna be a backpacking trip where the facilities would be basic but the experience would be wonderful.
  • Travelers are expected to sign a waiver form before starting the trip.
  • By paying the registration fee you are giving unconditional acceptance of the Terms & Conditions mentioned in the link.


Things to carry:

  • Valid Identity Proof with address (Passport / Adhaar Card).
  • Passport Size Color Photographs
  • Water Bottles(not the disposable ones)
  • A light-weighted Rucksack or Backpack, and a smaller daypack
  • A good pair of trekking shoes, and a pair of flip-flops
  • Thermal inners
  • Fleece Jackets and warm clothes
  • Raincoat/poncho(Just in case)
  • Personal clothing
  • Track pants, shorts
  • Towel, napkins
  • Cap, sunglasses
  • Camera, Binoculars (if you choose to)
  • Toiletries Sunscreen, Moisturizer, Light towel, Lip balm, Wet wipes, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Hand sanitizer etc basing on your personal needs.
  • Extra Polythene Bags (To segregate used/ unused garments, wet/ dry clothing)
  • Any medicines that you may feel necessary.
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Energy Drinks, Juices, Snacks & Biscuits to munch on (can be purchased on the go too)
  • Sleeping bags (Provided by MT if you don’t have one)
