About Spitfire Family Run

A brand NEW run to accompany the Spitfire 10K will take-off from our fantastic London site on Saturday 1 September 2018!

Join us for this very special event, in a very special year and help raise funds for the RAF100 Appeal!

Attention! Kids, mums, dads, aunts, uncles, pilots and superheroes, it’s time for take-off!

Don your cape, dress up and race your way around our transformed museum site for the NEW Family fun run. Make your way around the central track, cheered on by your friends and family and zoom through the finish line to claim your exclusive medal! Remember – Fancy Dress is encouraged.

This gentle run will take place at 8.30am and will be approximately 1km in the transformed museum site.

Entry to the Museum is free of charge and runners, spectators and supporters are encouraged to explore the site on race day.

ENTRY DETAILS

Entry Fee

Standard entry (all ages): £5 (this includes a medal)

Each registered runner will receive a special medal upon completion. This race is suitable for all ages and is a distance of approximately 1K. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Please note, that only paying participants will be awarded a medal.

WHY SUPPORT US?

The Family Spitfire Fun Run will take place in both London and Cosford sites and will form part of a series of events taking place across the country celebrating and commemorating the history and achievements of the Royal Air Force and inspiring young people.

It is also an opportunity to raise vital funds for the RAF100 Appeal, which is a joint venture between the Royal Air Force and the four major RAF charities – the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, the Royal Air Forces Association, the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust and the Royal Air Force Museum. The aim of the Appeal is to raise money for the RAF family and to create a lasting legacy as we celebrate 100 years of the Royal Air Force in 2018.

DETAILS FOR THE DAY

The Spitfire Family Run will take place at 8.30 am before the Spitfire 10k at 9.00am.

On site facilities include: toilets, disabled parking, bag drop for runners, restaurant and Museum Shop (all of which will be open early).
