The journey to sacred Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarovar is an important spiritual journey for the followers of Hindu, Jain, Buddhism and Bonpo followers, A journey that is made to search the hidden soul. According to Hindu legend, Mt Kailash is the abode of Lord Shiva, the holy centre of the earth. Tibetan Buddhists presume Kailash is the home of Buddha Dhechok who symbolises supreme harmony. According to Jains, Kailash is the place where the founder of their faith Rishabhadeva attained freedom from the cycle of life and rebirth.

Every year thousands of pilgrims undertake the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to seek salvation despite Freezing temperature, high altitude, rugged terrains. Mt. As per mythology, the sacred lake was created by Lord Brahma for medication. It is also believed that parikrama of Mount Kailash and then bathing in the icy cold waters of the Mansarovar Lake washes away sins of lifetime and protects from the negative and the demonical forces. Best time to take a holy dip in the lake is between 3 am and 5 am. The period is known as Brahma muhurata, the time when the gods come to take a bath into the lake.

NOTE:

Who can travel:

It is open to eligible Indian citizens, holding valid Indian passports, who wish to proceed to Kailash-Manasarovar for religious purposes. Any person who is in good health conditions to undertake travel in high altitude of 15000 feet and above can travel to Holy Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar. The age limit is 70 years. Issuance of permit cannot be guarantee because the same is always on the discretion of the concerned authorities only. It is strictly advisable for every pilgrim to consult with your doctor and undergo the basic medical tests to ensure that he/she is fit to travel to such high altitude areas. We require a doctor’s certificate to confirm your participation in the yatra. In the event of non-receipt of the medical certificate before the commencement of the yatra and/or sudden change in health of the traveler which does not allow the traveler to take the trip, we retain the right to cancel your participation in our batch and all payments shall be non-refundable. A valid passport, visa, special permit are mandatory for this yatra. In the event of delay in grant of Visa from Embassy and non-receipt of the passport, Indian Nationals can fly to Nepal with their photo Identity Card (Voter ID Card)


Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Advisory:

A Journey which involves trekking at height of up to 19,500 feet. Ultimate cold and rough territory can create a big problem if you are not prepared physically as well as mentally. Keep Following Points in your mind before you are here for the trip.
1) A valid passport is necessary for joining this pilgrims Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.
2) Indian mobile Networks work during the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra, but you have to take international roaming from your network provider.
3) Kailash Manasarovar Yatra is tough journey. Get a medical consideration with your doctor before you arrive for Kailash Yatra. 
4) This Journey consist of long drives over bumpy roads so anyone suffering from back problems can face difficulty.
5) If you are suffering from Asthma or any kind of dust allergy please wear a mask during journey.
6) Go for long walk daily ( 4-7 km ) and do some exercise or preferably yoga asanas and pranayama before being here.


How to register for kailash mansarovar yatra:  

Step 1 Check availability of seats in our group. 
Step 2 Please fill Yatra Booking Form and email us at one scan copy of the duly signed form with scan copy (coloured copy) of your passport on info@explorehimalaya.org(Please note the passport must be valid for minimum 6 months from the date of yatra) 
Step 3 Send advance payments to our office. you can pay Yatra amount on our website via payment Gateway ( 2 % extra charges will be applied ). you can also transfer the amount via net banking or NEFT Transfer.


Payments: 

For overland trip, Rs. 35,000/- ( For Indian National) OR USD 600/- ( for foreign National ) per person 
For Helicopter Tour Rs.65,000/-( For Indian National) or USD 1100/-( for foreign National ) per person advance at the time of submitting documents for booking. Balance payments 30 days prior to tour departure date, 100% of the total cost should reach Explore Himalaya Adventure Sports Association account by Wire/NEFT transfer or cheque deposit along with passport of the Yatri. This payment includes non-refundable INR 10,000 (for Indian nationals) or USD 250 (for foreign nationals). 
Please note Indian Govt charges service tax on each payment which may differ based on the nature of service rendered by the traveler. Please check list of currently applicable service tax mentioned below. Domestic flight tickets 0.70% International flight tickets 1.40% Train bookings in India 14.0% Hotel Bookings (without meal) 1.40% Hotel Booking (with meal/s) 3.50% Transport booking 5.60% Package bookings 4.50% It is not only the liability of the Company to charge Govt Service Tax (GST) to the customer but it is also the responsibility of the customer to pay the same without fail. All our quotes and offers are ‘exclusive’ of GST and shall be charged addition to the travel booking charges. 
Important Remarks : While you request booking with us you confirm having read and accepted the Terms of Bookings with us as mentioned on our website and on ‘Yatra Registration Form’ . 


Passport & Visa:

Indian Passport Holders Nepal portion: Indian national does not require a passport or visa in Nepal. A valid identity card (voter ID card) is acceptable by Nepal Immigration to give permission to Indian nationals for travelling in Nepal. China/Tibet portion – A valid passport, visa and a special permit to visit Kailash region is mandatory for Indian nationals willing to undertake the yatra. Please send a scanned copy of your passport to our Delhi Office for obtaining China Visa and Tibet Permit for Kailash Manasarovar Yatra. 
Foreign Nationals and NRIs Nepal portion: A valid passport and Visa is mandatory for all foreign nationals and NRIs (Non-resident Indians) to enter Nepal. Nepal immigration offers Visa on Arrival facility at Kathmandu airport against all valid documents and visa fee. China/Tibet portion – A valid passport, visa and a special permit to visit Kailash region is mandatory for all foreign nationals and NRIs (non-resident Indians) willing to undertake Kailash Yatra. Please send a scanned copy (coloured) of your passport to our Delhi headquarters and also carry a coloured copy of your passport alongwith 2 passport size photographs upon arrival at Kathmandu airport.


Travel Insurance:

It is strictly advisable and is mandatory to carry a valid Travel Insurance covering medical expenses, emergency evacuation expenses, additional stay and food expenses etc for traveling to Kailash region. Our trips does not include the price of Travel Insurance and it is the sole responsibility of the pilgrim / traveler to ensure that he/she is adequately insured for the full duration of the trip.


Medical Certificate:

We require a valid copy of health certificate of the pilgrims issued by his/her physician mentioning that the pilgrim/traveler is in perfect condition to undertake yatra to Mount Kailash at a height of above 15000 feet and above. Medical certificate is not the responsibility of ours and we do not take any liability of any health issue. All expenses for medical treatments, evacuation, hospitalisation, embulance etc are to be paid by the traveler only.
