Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program, developed by Dr Jon Kabat Zinn at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical School in 1979, consists of eight classes and one all-day class. There are 31 hours of learning and practice hours.
MBSR is a well-defined and systematic patient-centered educational approach which uses relatively intensive training in mindfulness meditation as the core of a program to teach people how to take better care of themselves and live healthier and more adaptive lives. The outcomes are:
This MBSR course is taught by Eric Lim, a qualified MBSR Teacher and Mindfulness Psychologist at Brahm Centre. He spearheads the curriculum development and research efforts of the mindfulness programmes. He has taught over 3000 individuals through delivery of courses, talks and workshops including Duke-NUS Medical School, National University of Singapore, National Institute of Education, Hwa Chong Institution and more. Eric has also been awarded the merit award for being a young model caregiver at the 2017 Model Caregiver Awards organised by AWWA.
Dates & Times (8 sessions plus a full day retreat): 7pm to 9.30pm except on the first and last sessions with special timings next to them.
8 Sessions (Thu): Oct 4 (6:45pm-9:45pm), 11, 18, 25, Nov 1, 8, 15, 22 (6:45pm-9:45pm)
Full day retreat: Nov 11 (Sun) from 9.30am to 5pm
