Mountains are Calling, and I must Heed.......


The Great Himalayan Trance – A Cycle Ride from New Delhi, India to Kathmandu Nepal, the Gateway to Everest, Birthplace if Buddha by Delhi Randonneurs on the 26th of January 2018. A first of its kind in India.

A Resplendent ride crossing over the Border and spread across 2 countries, barring the first 300 Kms, the majority of the ride is in pristine untouched Nepal …majorly passing through Bardia National Park, Valmiki Tiger Reserve and Chitwan National Park.
Albeit the suggested Bike is an MTB but is doable pretty much on a Road bike…..let’s not forget we are riding from Delhi to Kathmandu…the Jewel in the Mighty Himalayas.

The Ride commences on the night of 25th & 26th of January 2018, and with 5 days of riding (NO Night Riding) we shall disembark in Kathmandu.

Day 4 is the when we start with Gradual climbs closer to Butwal

Day 1 Ride approx. 300 Kms
Day 2 Ride approx. 260 Kms
Day 3 Ride approx. 230 Kms
Day 4 Ride approx. 190 Kms (Gradual Climb)
Day 5 Ride approx. 70 Kms (Major Climbs)

Total Distance approx. 1050 Kms …Elevation Gain 8500Meters.

What is included in the cost? 

We shall be providing 2 Support Vehicles to carry your luggage (1 cabin sized per rider), to be accessed only at designated points and Night halts, Overnight accommodation, breakfast and dinner at the following places:

Night 1 – Hotel India ( around 300 Kms Mark)
Night 2 – Hotel in Nepal ( Kohalpur)
Night 3 – Hotel in Nepal,Butwal
Night 4 –Hotel in Nepal. Hetauda 
Night 5 – Hotel in Dakshinkali, Kathmandu ,


Apart from this you shall be provided hydration and refreshments at designated points during the ride, and the coveted Finisher’s medal with a bagful of wonderful memories.

We reach Kathmandu on 30th, and Party.
You either free to go back home on 31st or take the Everest Express flight (https://www.yetiairlines.com/destination/everest-express) and do the 1-hour flight over Mt Everest or call your family over to spend the weekend. 



Who can participate?

Entry to this ride is by invitation only, and we have capped the total number of riders to 25.
