Taking inspiration from the late Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, Purbayan Chatterjee is now known for his groundbreaking style in creating original sounds using Indian traditions that evokes deep emotions. Fearlessly creative, Purbayan Chatterjee is a rare instrumentalist with a unique musical repertoire, innovative skills and the dexterity of swift, agile fingers. He is accompanied by Sukvinder Singh, acclaimed for his improvisational brilliance, intensity and high-energy performances.
Ashwini Bhide Deshpande is the queen of Hindustani khayal and shares an evening of her deeply expressive raga music, which draws on India’s centuries-old culture. Her performances include silver-toned renditions of khayal and poetic bhajans. She is accompanied by Lele and Misra on the tabla and harmonium respectively.
