About London's Grime & Punishment Tour
Journey back in time and hear about the debauched, drunken and downright deadly side of London. You will pass through the heart of the lively West End theatre district and be gripped by tales of hangmen and criminals, prostitutes and paupers, bizarre disasters and even more strange antics of the eccentric personalities of Georgian London.
Start this tour by hearing of how a 15ft high tsunami of beer once rushed through the streets, then head off to the brooding presence of one of London's most morbidly positioned churches and find out why drinking beer and gin nearby took on a whole different meaning.
You'll then take in London's most notorious slum and entertainment districts of yesteryear, hear about sex and crime in Covent Garden, and after visiting the most unlucky and some say most haunted theatre in London, finish the tour at the palacial Somerset House.
Please note dogs are not allowed on the tour except guide dogs.
